A Shopify shipping-message A/B test compares how accurate delivery or shipping information is presented and measures whether it reduces uncertainty and supports completed orders.

Choose the uncertainty

The experiment should address a clear question about cost, arrival date, cutoff time, free-shipping eligibility, tracking, or returns. Use support and abandonment evidence to choose the message.

Keep the promise accurate

Delivery estimates must reflect inventory, location, market, carrier, fulfillment schedule, and selected service. A strong conversion result does not justify a promise the operation cannot meet.

Place information before surprise

Test the message where shoppers make the related decision, often near price, add to cart, or cart totals. Avoid hiding material costs until checkout merely because the earlier page looks cleaner.

Measure commercial and service effects

Use completed orders and revenue as the main result, then watch shipping contacts, cancellations, refunds, and late-delivery complaints. A message should improve both conversion quality and expectation setting.
